FEBRUARY 10, 2010 :: Jason Wheatley and his #7 Open Wheel Modified team recently returned home from a quick trip to the Sunshine State of Florida! Jason invaded the Volusia Speedway Park in Barberville, Florida for the 'Florida DIRTcar Nationals' from February 4-8. The Loretto, Kentucky native finished a disappointing twenty-ninth in the first race that he entered on Thursday night. Following a rain-out on Friday, Jason unfortunately failed to transfer into the final two feature events, including the $5,000 to win 'Gator' Championship on Monday evening. JANUARY 28, 2010 :: The Wheatley Racing team will open up their 2010 racing season earlier than normal, as the #7 team will trek south to the Volusia Speedway Park in Barberville, Florida for the 'Florida DIRTcar Nationals.' Jason Wheatley plans to enter events at the Daytona Beach area venue from February 4-8. The annual 'Gator' spectacular will take place on February 8 and $5,000 will be up for grabs in the Open Wheel Modified division. OCTOBER 19, 2009 :: Jason Wheatley closed out his 2009 season as he has done three times now in his career... in victory lane at the 'Dirt Track World Championship!' This year's version of the historic race was held at the Lawrenceburg Speedway in Lawrenceburg, Indiana on Saturday-Sunday, October 17-18. After winning his heat race on Saturday, Jason rolled off third on the grid in the 30-lap main event on Sunday afternoon. The Loretto, Kentucky native staged a great early battle for the lead with Jared Landers and drove off from the field in the waning laps to record the $3,000 triumph over Doug Adkins, Skylar Marlar, Shelby Miles, and Rick Corbin. OCTOBER 5, 2009 :: The Wheatley Racing team tackled the Ponderosa Speedway in Junction City, Kentucky over the October 2-3 weekend for a pair of $1,000 to win Open Wheel Modified events. On Friday night, Jason Wheatley won his heat race, but retired early from the 'Friday Night Rumble' main event and finished in the twenty-first position. During the 'Fall Classic' program on Saturday evening at Ponderosa, Jason once again won his heat race prior to finishing a strong runner-up behind winner Benji Lee in the A-Main.
